With Thanksgiving Break here, students are ready for a much-needed break from the hustle of school. This time of year brings a mix of relaxation, family time, and plenty of food. For many, it’s an opportunity to take a step back from classes, catch up on sleep, and enjoy time with friends and family.
What are classmates looking forward to this year? Students have different ways of celebrating this holiday, from family traditions to travel plans. Some are excited to unwind, while others are gearing up for the chaos of gatherings. Either way, it’s a time to recharge and reflect on what’s important.
“I will be spending quality time with family and friends, I will also be working at Metro serving delicious drinks to our community as they shop over the holiday weekend,” said senior Brylee Vang.
For Brylee it is all about finding that balance for her-enjoying moments with loved ones while also staying connected to her community. Working at Metro Coffe lets her engage with familiar faces and helps create a warm atmosphere during the busy season.
Metto Coffee Shop has become a cherished spot in Casper, especially as the seasons change. It’s a cozy atmosphere and friendly baristas; many consisting of Kelly Walsh students and prior ones. Making it a go-to place for locals throughout the year.
Sophomore Ava Reece is looking to cherish family traditions.
“My family and I typically go to Riverton to meet with more family and celebrate Thanksgiving dinner, as well as go cut a tree down for Christmas.”
This tradition gives her a chance to relax, reconnect, and share laughs over delicious food. Ava particularly loves the post-Thanksgiving tradition of cutting down a Christmas Tree.
“Choosing the perfect tree is always fun,” Reece said.
For her these moments are all about family bonding and creating lasting memories as they transition into the Holiday season.
During Thanksgiving breakKW students engage in a variety of activities. Some focus on hobbies, while others use this to catch up on sleep or spend time with family and friends. This break is essential to allow students to step away from academic responsibilities for a while.
