For the second year in a row, the Kelly Walsh yearbook staff can call themselves state champions.

The 2015 Spirit of Troy Yearbook was awarded the All-State selection for yearbooks in the 4A classification at the State Journalism Convention held in Casper on October 5th.

The yearbook was judged by a top journalism adviser from Colorado and was graded on everything from theme and copy writing, to photography and design.  The yearbook received a score of 921 out of 1000 points on the judging rubric and beat out the likes of Green River High School, Cheyenne Central, and Natrona County High School.

“It is incredibly rewarding to receive recognition for all of the hard work our staff put into the 50th Anniversary edition. We wanted it to be great, and we think we accomplished that,” said adviser Liz Masterson.

The publications class is already working on the 2016 edition of Spirit of Troy and is aiming for another All-State award at next year’s convention.

“Each year, the competition gets better and better.  I like that we are constantly pushed to get better,” said Masterson.
