Summer Excitement

Summer+Excitement

With less than a month left in school, the countdown to summer is beginning. The school year ending and summer beginning brings so many different things for every student at Kelly Walsh. For some students, they will spend their summer working and saving up money, while others will spend their time hanging out with friends and enjoying the warm weather.

While some students will stay in Casper for the rest of their high school career, a couple move away in the summertime for all different reasons. For CheyAnn Price, her move is being driven by her dads job.

“I am really looking forward to spending time with my family and friends at barbeques and the lake before I move. I am also excited about getting to know new people in Sheridan,” said Price, a sophomore.

With the constant stress of school and homework, there is not much time to hang out with friends besides weekends. So the summer makes for great outdoor and social fun.

Almost everyone can agree that the weather and the sun make summer the best season of all.

“I am looking forward to warm weather, rock climbing, working as a swim coach, going to the lake and fishing… all that fun summer stuff. I love being outside, so the warm weather is the best,” said Kade Hillibush, a senior. Hillibush is one of those lucky few that get to make money doing something they love. Hillibush was on the swim team at Kelly Walsh all four years of high school, so it makes sense that he is looking forward to spending time on the water and working with others in the water.

Zoe Neville is also looking forward to spending her summer on the water. “I am really looking forward to hanging out at the lake and getting a nice tan,” said Neville, a sophomore.

For seniors, the ending of the school year is also a chapter of their life closing.

“I am most excited about spending time with my high school friends before I move on to the next stage of my life,” said Matt Paris, a senior.

High school provides so many opportunities to get to know and experience new people, it is sad when that comes to and end.

Without school, there are many chances to get out in the community and do new things.

“I am most looking forward to playing shows with my band at the art walk and the main stage at the nic fest,” said Raedyn Vidal, a senior. Vidal and his band have been playing throughout the community for quite some time now and the summer only brings more opportunities for them.

Summertime brings so much excitement because there are so many fun things to do. The end of the school year is where a new path begins for every student, let the countdown commence.
